built-in block explorer

Would it be beneficial to have a block explorer built into the wallet? Is this difficult to do?

Spreadcoin has this, but it seems to be a block explorer for multiple currencies, not just their own.

You could have an in-wallet block explorer that loads through a website, but security-wise it is recipe for disaster*. You could do it with the in-wallet block chain, but there is a catch in terms of speed and system resources.

Block explorers are nice for monitoring the health of a network, but are hardly useful if you just want to pay someone.
What usage did you have in mind for it?

*) Depends on implementation of course

I think block explorers should be separated from the wallets.

For normal wallet operations they are irrelevant and would confuse a lot of users.
